I made this deck in honor of the person whose door the village once knocked on.

For as long as communities have faced trouble, someone has usually known how to help: cool a fever, calm a household, find a lost ring, or stand at the door and say, not tonight, not here. History calls these people cunning folk, charmers, healers, and wise women. This deck calls them teachers.

Here is the part most people never hear. The old records often distinguish between those accused of causing harm and the practitioners their neighbors actually consulted for healing, protection, counter-magic, and finding what had been lost. The Hearth & Hedge Oracle is built on that history, and on a promise of honesty.

Some of what appears in these cards comes from documented records. Some comes from reported tradition. Some belongs openly to legend or modern practice. The guidebook tells you which is which as you read. Records describe. Tradition says. Legend holds. Modern practice reads. Trust the verbs.

The forty cards move through four suits: Land and Green, Hearth and Protection, Threshold and Vision, and History and Witness. Yarrow and mugwort sit beside the cauldron and the protective bottle, the crossroads and the scrying glass. Documented practitioners such as Biddy Early and James Murrell appear beside inherited stories such as Mother Shipton, with the difference between history and legend kept clear.

Each card carries its Essence on the face. The printed guidebook expands that Essence through history, reflective guidance, a shadow meaning, an affirmation, and two journal prompts.

This is a mirror deck, not a fortune teller. It will not predict your future, diagnose your body, or name your enemies. Instead, it follows four movements inspired by the work of a careful practitioner: settle, observe, discern, and tend.

Draw one card as a Morning Charm. Bring a tangled situation to the three-card Hearth Reading. Carry a true crossroads through all four suits with the Compass of the Craft. The cards will not make the choice for you. They are here to help you see what is present, separate what you know from what you fear, and choose one steadier next step.

I write the concepts, card meanings, guidebook, and reflective practices. The artwork is created through an AI-assisted visual process that I direct, refine, and assemble into the finished deck.

Each set includes forty oracle cards and a printed guidebook, presented in a two-piece box. The deck is printed and shipped in the USA by our production partner.
