What Nettle means
Nettle can feed, clothe, and sting. Folk tradition respected it as a plant that protects its own value and must be harvested with care and a firm hand.
Some worthwhile work will sting; take hold of it deliberately. In shadow, you become all defense. If you are always ready to sting, you may also keep out nourishment.

When Nettle appears in a reading
Nettle arrives when the useful thing is also the uncomfortable thing. The conversation I keep avoiding, the task that stings every time I pick it up, the feedback I know is fair. Folk tradition treated nettle as a plant to harvest with care and a firm hand. The card asks me to take hold on purpose.
I also read Nettle as a check on my own defenses. A plant that only stings feeds no one. If I have been so ready to push back that nothing nourishing can reach me, the card is pointing at that guard and asking what it is costing.
