Some cunning folk worked from books: grimoires, almanacs, and notebooks in which recipes, charms, and observations accumulated into a personal body of knowledge.
Keep your own working book. Record what you tried and what genuinely helped. In shadow, the book replaces the person, and borrowed instruction is valued above lived evidence.

When The Grimoire appears in a reading
The Grimoire arrives when my own lived evidence is being outranked by borrowed instruction. Some cunning folk kept working books: recipes, charms, and observations that accumulated into personal knowledge. The card asks me to keep my own book, and to record what I actually tried and what genuinely helped.
Its shadow is letting the book replace the person. Advice from someone else, however good, is not the same as what I have found to be true in my own kitchen and my own week. When the card appears, I write today’s lesson down in my own words.

Start or reopen a working notebook and write one entry: what you tried this week, and whether it helped.
